The Coach House
Nothing beats a refreshing pint at the end of a long day. You’ll be hard-pushed to find a better selection of beer and cask ales anywhere else. Friendly and full of character, it’s a great place for a big night out or for catching up with friends and family. The Coach House has an exciting range of gins, a new selection of cocktails, and house sodas. No fuss, just quality drinks at great value!
Marstons Pubs approached me to create a refreshing visual identity for The Coach House, a welcoming, friendly pub in a thriving street at the heart of Swansea city centre. The aim was to create a warm and welcoming visual identity for a wide demographic, ranging from students and families to the older generation of locals who are loyal to the pub and its history.
Modern Heritage
After exploring multiple directions to take the brand identity, the client chose a logo direction that reflects The Coach House’s history through a hand-drawn sketch of the building, paired with a serif typeface that feels bold and classic yet modern. It aims to represent a warm and relaxing atmosphere for friends and families, especially students, who are most likely to spend their income in themed bars that seek to attract this clientele visually.
Good Vibes, Great Times
I further expanded the logo’s visual direction into common user touchpoints of a bar and restaurant. The mockups demonstrate how the logo is applied across common user applications in restaurants, showing a warm and comfortable pub atmosphere providing good vibes and great times.
